Coach Grote, Bowdoin College Clinics for Girls Grades 3-12 Sunday March 20th
Clinics for GIRLS Grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 @ Bowdoin College Sunday March 20th @ Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine
These will be fabulous learning opportunities. Coach Grote has been to Hartland, in 2014, where she conducted a clinic during our 1st Annual Tegenhondi Tournament. It was GREAT.The spring of 2015 was the 13th season for Bowdoin head coach Liz Grote, who is the winningest coach in Polar Bear women's lacrosse history.
Over the course of her tenure at Bowdoin, Grote has won over 67% of her games and led the Polar Bears to unprecedented heights. The Polar Bears have made two NESCAC Championship game appearances, qualified for five NCAA Division III Tournaments and - in 2011 - accumulated the most wins in school history (18), the program's first-ever trip to the NCAA "Final Four" and runner-up finish in the Division III Championship.
In 2011 Grote surpassed long-time head coach Sally LaPointe as the winningest in program history. Coach Grote was honored as the IWLCA's New England Coach of the Year in 2005. Under her direction, Bowdoin has had at least one IWLCA Division III All-American in 11 of the last 12 years.
A native of Simsbury, Conn., Grote is a 1994 graduate of the University of Vermont and came to Bowdoin with an extensive background in college lacrosse. In addition to accumulating a school-best 32-18 record in three years at Wooster, Grote held assistant coaching jobs at Monmouth University (1995), Princeton University (1996) and the University of New Hampshire (1997-99).
In 2002, Grote led Wooster to a school- record 12 victories (12-6 overall), surpassing the 29-year program's previous top mark of 10 wins in a season. Even more noteworthy, she helped direct the Scots to their first conference title and first NCAA appearance, where they lost to Cabrini, 12-11, in the first round. Grote has been named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III West Region Coach of the Year twice (2000, 2002) and was tabbed as North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in both 2001 and 2002

Thank you Parent/BoD
Great Thanks to Parents representing their youth lacrosse athletes at our Parent/Board of Director's Meeting this evening. Great collaborative work took place. It was fun to be a part of such a productive process. We all learned a good bit. I learned a good bit about players numbers and socks among other things...... Other concerned and collaborative parents, not able to attend this evening, should join us at our next meeting early in April. We need more parents participating on a board level and fyi we laugh lots.....about feeding bears, keeping mum and expert coaches named similarly to board/paper work people. Great fun. Greater Good.

Native American words?
Modern day lacrosse descends from and resembles games played
by various Native American Original First Peoples. These include games called:
dehuntshigwa’es in
Onondage (“men hit a rounded object”),
da-nah-wah’uwsdi in Eastern Cherokee
(“little war”),
begadwe in Mohawk
language (“little brother of war”),
baaga’adowe in Ojibwe (“bump hips”)
kabucha in Choctaw.
MidMaine Lacrosse, in respect to
