Tsothohrha Tree Festival
THIS Sunday 12/4/16
Admission is FREE!
Doors Open to Public @ 3pm.
Palmyra Community Center, 4 Madawaska Road, Palmyra, Maine
Con Brio Brass plays holiday music from 3-5pm
Concessions are sold from 3-6pm.
Costumes are quietly judged as people visit during the festival. Costume Contest judging concludes at 5pm.
Raffle tickets can be purchased from 3-5pm. Place purchased raffle tickets into the stockings next to any tree you want a chance to win.
Raffle Tickets Voting (placing raffle tickets in stockings) ceases at 5pm.
Santa arrives @ 5pm sharing small candy canes with children.
A short performance of skits takes place @ 5pm. This allows organizers time to count the votes. If you are young and agile, please give your seat to an older patron.
5:30 pm marks the AWARDS of the Costume Contest, Tree Most True to Cause & Best in Show,
5:35 Raffle 30 decorated trees.
We probably cannot deliver your tree. It is imperative to be there to win a tree. (Ask a friend to step in on your behalf.)
Concessions cost $1, 2 or 3. They are available from 3-6pm. There are sweets including Steve’s Snack Whoopie Pies! There are dough boys, chili, cocoa, water, soda, macaroni & cheese, hotdogs and chili dogs.
Face paint might be available.
Every dollar or donation you contribute at the festival goes directly towards support of a local child playing a great game. (…With the exception of the Nokomis Key Club Tree where donations and the tree will be given to a family in need.) $$$ earned purchase lacrosse equipment, referee time, field paint, scholarship support etc.
Special Notes
1. The Jonathan Bowman Trust will sell ornaments and wreaths. The funds raised from the sale of these items will be donated to the Jonathan Bowman Trust fund. This trust is committed to funding free local summer camp, hosted by MidMaine Lacrosse, for any interested child, in perpetuity. Jonny was one of the MidMaine Lacrosse “Original 8.” He was our #1 player. He was a star, a captain and a coach. Jonny represented MidMaine Lacrosse, John Bapst and the MCI/Nokomis Cooperative Team as a smart, talented and competitive athlete. Thank you for your support.
2. Last year we had a tree where cash donations were collected for the American Cancer Society. This year, the Nokomis Key Club is sponsoring a donation tree to help a chosen family in need. They have collected donations at events throughout the fall in a special cookie jar. They will have a tree collecting cash donations for this family at the tree festival. This tree will not be raffled. This tree, it’s decorations and donations will be given to the family by the Key Club. Thank you very much.
3. Choose a favorite vocal talent. One of our skit events is the Holiday Karaoke Auction
Pay $1.00 and select a talented (or not) friend for our possible winner 3-4pm.
We will make a list of all candidates.
Candidate selection ceases at 4pm.
Vote with .25 cents for your favorite choice 3-5pm.
Vote as many times as you wish (25 cents each)
All voting ceases at 5pm.
Whoever gets the most votes get to perform Karaoke to Holiday Tune near 5pm.
OR the “Winner” Can buy Her/Himself out by matching her/his vote total of dollars. And we will select the nominee with the second or third or fourth most votes.
4. We will have some lacrosse apparel available on site to purchase while supplies last. We are also taking orders as shown clothing. They should arrive before Christmas. There are color choices which may or may not be shown here.
