TRASH CAN LACROSSE RETURNING
TO PALMYRA COMMUNITY CENTER
MidMaine Lacrosse invites new and returning lacrosse players as they start the new year. MidMaine Lacrosse was recently awarded a First Stick Lacrosse Grant from USLacrosse. The grant will help outfit 50 youth players, train coaches and provide administrative assistance over two years. Last spring they were awarded a Maine Lacrosse Coaches Grant which supplied $1000 worth of equipment to area youth. Registration for Trash Can Lacrosse for grades 7 and 8 and high school players will be held Sunday, October 6th from 2 to 4 PM or 5 to 6:30 PM at the Palmyra Community Center.
Traditionally, they have worked very hard with families to provide new players with available equipment.
Registration for Trash Can Lacrosse requires a $30 payment for grades 7 and 8 and a $50 payment for high school players. This includes players required US Lacrosse registration which is valid for the entire year. Trash Can Lacrosse will be held Thursdays from 6 to 7 PM at the Palmyra Community Center for grades 7 and 8 players and 7 to 8 PM for area high school players. They welcome kids from MSAD53 and RSU19 as well as any other players from other locations desiring to learn and play lacrosse. They have grown from eight players to an excess of sixty players. The website development comes close to completion at www.midmainelacrosse.com. Check them out online.
An informational and open Board of Directors Meeting will be held at the Palmyra Community Center on Thursday, October 3rd at 6 PM. The public is invited to come learn and come play.
