What we know.....PreSeason

MidMaine Lacrosse PreSeason Start commences Tuesday March 1st
Practice will be conducted at the Palmyra Community Center, 4 Madawaska Rd., Palmyra, ME and at Somerset Valley Middle School, 35 Blake St., Hartland, ME.  
Come learn the fastest growing game in the country and in our community.  
PreSeason Practice meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings for the month of March. 
Lacrosse is FREE for all come and to try
All dates and times are detailed on the Master Calendar @ www.midmainelacrosse.combut please check and double check the calendar or FB (Midmaine Lacrosse) as school systems were finalizing gym availability and these times may alter slightly even still. 
The PreSeason Lacrosse Program is sponsored by the Town of Palmyra and MidMaine Lacrosse.

Preseason play invites guest coaches Karen Henning from Colby College, Gretchen Livingston from Cony High School, David Pelletier from Messalonskee, Jim Dock from the University of Farmington and others to some of our routine March practice sessions for middle school players. 
High school coaches and players will guest at elementary and youth practices. 
MidMaine Lacrosse Coaches are currently advancing their US Lacrosse certification levels and attending clinics almost every weekend this month and last.

MidMaine Lacrosse, along with the Town of Hartland and Town Manager, Chris Littlefield and well as Mr. Joseph Hezlep, President of the Maine Chapter of US Lacrosse, host a FREE Workshop for area Town Recreational and School Athletic Directors @ the Newport Cultural  Center Saturday, March 26th 9-11am (recreational leaders and curious community members) and 11am-1pm for area lacrosse coaches.

MidMaine Players Registration for April-mid June Regular Season play will be available @ Bud’s Shop in Save in Newport on Saturday March 5th from 1-5pm and Sunday @ Bud’s Shop n’ Save in Pittsfield on Sunday, March 6th from 1-5pm. Registration forms will be available on site and are also available at www.midmainelacrosse.com under forms and documents.

MidMaine Lacrosse is a youth sport recreational organization with students from RSU #19, MSAD #53 and any athlete in need of a lacrosse team. 
We are overseen by a Board of Director’s. 
We work tirelessly to see that any youth, regardless of ability to pay, may participate. We have been awarded and invested locally an excess of $120,000 in equipment and training to develop our successful lacrosse program. 
MidMaine Lacrosse owns equipment for area youth to borrow. 
We are a US Lacrosse member organization. 
We are the feeder program for the MCI/Nokomis Cooperative High School team.

Regular season play starts in April and concludes mid-June. 
Youth K-2 play at home amongst themselves. Youth grades 3-12 will travel some. 
We carpool and ride share. We have, in the past, successfully kept travel distances to a minimum. Please write to president@midmainelacrosse.com or any of our Board Members or coaches listed on our website.

MidMaine Lacrosse will sponsor K-2 coed in-house local play. 
Eager youth will practice evening 2ce a week from April-mid-June ($25) under the coaching direction of John Szarowski. 
Girls grades 3-4, under the coaching direction of Michelle Hubbard ($50) and boys grades 3-4, under the direction of Darrin Ouellette and Eric Rowell ($50) will play 4-6 games, 7v7 vs nearby communities. We may yet learn of 1-2 tournament opportunities. 
Girls in middle school (grades 5-8) will play 8-10 games and 1-2 tournaments under the coaching direction of Russell Wilson ($50). 
Boys in middle school (grades 5-8) will work with Coach Mary Alice Gould and Tad Simpson ($50). We will aim for 8-10 games and 1-2 tournaments. 
We drive and carpool to games. 
Scholarship forms will be available at PreSeason Play, Bud’s Shop n’ Save Registration and are on our website @ www.midmainelacrosse.com under forms and documents. 
We have lacrosse equipment to share.  
MidMaine Lacrosse hosts a program for high school girls and a limited open gym and tournament play program for high school boys ($50). Registration costs reflect mandated US Lacrosse Membership as well as MidMaine Lacrosse fees. Scholarships are available.

We annually work hard with three or four large fun raising events. 
We earn money for scholarships, paint for lining fields, referees and organizational events.  
We are currently selling Steve’s Snack Whoppie Pies. 
MidMaine Lacrosse has an upcoming Calendar Raffle. 
We annually host the Tsothohrha Tree Festival at the Palmyra Community Center in early December. 

All members contribute time and effort.

The 3rd Annual Tegenhondi Tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 14th and 15th, 2016. We will host on local college turf or at Warsaw Middle School. Last year this event, at Colby College, drew participation by 32 area lacrosse teams. 
We plan a 4th charter bus trip to a professional Boston Cannons Lacrosse Game Saturday, June 11th.  
Sunday, April 10th will host our 3rd Annual Sticks and Stones Thunder Nation Tournament of Native American Olympics and Indoor Lacrosse Tournament.
