Dear Middle School Boys Team Parents,
The middle school 6/7/8 boys team has an away game @ the Camden Snow Bowl on Monday May 19th @ 5:30pm. This probably means leaving near 3:30pm. This team has traveled to us. It is our obligation to reciprocate and travel to them to play.
If your child is planning to play on May 19th but you cannot drive your child, please act on your child’s behalf and arrange a ride. Remember other team members depend on your child playing in both home and away games.
There are five or six parents that regularly drive and are often willing to carry a few extras. Although they are more than willing to assist it is helpful if you call them in advance and arrange meeting times, meeting places and transportation.
Please think ahead. We have two awesome opportunities upcoming.
The middle school is scheduled to play @ Thornton Academy vs Saco x 2 on June 1st. (Mr. Wilson may not be available to drive this day.) Thornton Academy is a learning play day. The facility is world class. The beach is close by. There’s a local IMAX theater. It is a great field trip and cultural opportunity. The first wave of middle school players, playing there in previous years, benefitted from such an excursion in so many ways. It is a two hour drive.
Quick on the heels of the Saco adventure is the all-day Ted Hellier Tournament in South Portland, Maine on Saturday, June 7th. Seventy middle school and JV high school programs will gather. It is a day full of lacrosse and kids everywhere. If you cannot drive your child please initiate a process to see that your child has a ride with another parent.
There have been a few schedule changes and I expect there will be a few more. Please check the website to keep on top of these. http://midmainelacrosse.com/html/6-7-8_grade_boys.html
Recreation clubs often develop into school programs but we are not there yet. In the meantime, we must drive the kids. MidMaine Lacrosse has grown so quickly. There is obviously a great community need and benefit around lacrosse. I need your help on behalf of your child. You do not have to drive but you must assume responsibility to arranging ride-share.
Please note-if the meeting time is after school perhaps near 4:00pm-someone must supervise athletes that stay after school waiting for pick up.
I have attached a list of team members and most of the info I have for reaching their parents. Please help out.
Thank you,
Gretchen Baker
