Coaches Needed! And what a learning opportunity this Saturday.....Thank you

Thank You Coach Bolliger and Gould

SO pleased and thankful...Coaches Bolliger and Gould head to this workshop this Saturday. Thank you for sharing your time. We know you will return with gold nuggets to share. We need some younger parents to climb on board. We need aspiring coaches heading to meetings such as this. Get Involved. Please remember we all knew nothing about lacrosse at the start.

Coaches!
You are invited to a men's lacrosse coaches day January 16, 2016. The event will be at Bates College in honor of the late Colby College Coach Jack Sandler who passed away unexpectedly this fall. Coach Sandler played and coached at Bates under Coach Peter Lasagna. Coach Lasagna and the University of Virginia Head Coach Dom Starsia will present a full day of lacrosse for Youth, Middle School and High School Coaches including X's and O's in the morning and an indoor field demonstration with the Bates Players in the afternoon. The cost for the day is $20.00 and lunch is included. The venue at Bates will be limited to 100 coaches. Proceeds from the day will go to support activities of the Maine Lacrosse Coaches Association (MLCA) including the annual All-Star games and the MLCA grant programs.
Widely regarded as one of the best teachers, motivators and tacticians in the game, Dom Starsia is in his 24th season at the helm of the Virginia men's lacrosse program. Under Starsia's guidance, his Cavalier squads have won four NCAA titles and reached the final four 13 times. He has won more games than any coach in Atlantic Coast Conference and Virginia history, sporting a 267-95 (.738) record since coming to Charlottesville in 1993. In 23 seasons with Virginia, Starsia has led the Cavaliers to the NCAA Tournament 21 times and has won 10 or more games in a season 19 times since his arrival in Charlottesville. The 63 seasons prior to Starsia's tenure began at UVA the Cavaliers managed only 10 years with double-digit wins. Starsia's overall record, including 10 seasons at Brown, is 368-141 (.723) in 33 years. His 368 wins are the most all-time by a coach at a Division I school, passing legendary coach Jack Emmer (326).
Peter Lasagna enters his 16th season as head coach of men’s lacrosse at Bates College in the 2015-16 academic year, having just won his third NESCAC Coach of the Year award from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Coach Lasagna led Bates to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015, where the Bobcats advanced to the Sweet Sixteen before falling to eventual national champion Tufts. Lasagna was named both New England Coach of the Year by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and NESCAC Co-Coach of the Year by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Before coming to Bates College, Lasagna compiled a 65-51 record as the head coach at Brown University. Coach Lasagna was named Division I Coach of the Year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in 1994. He was also named Division I Coach of the Year by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in both 1994 and 1995. A well-known voice in the collegiate lacrosse community, Lasagna has been a columnist for the award-winning magazine Inside Lacrosse since 2001.

We're looking forward to seeing you all at Bates in January!
