MCI-Nokomis and MML What is the Difference?

There is some confusion about MCI-Nokomis High School Cooperative Boy Game MPA Club and the MidMaine Lacrosse Recreation Club Teams. MML has no administrative role in the MCI-Nokomis Club.
MML has loaned MCI-Nokomis uniforms. We ask that MCI-Nokomis coaches collect all uniforms after each contest. This preserves the longevity of the uniforms and saves everyone money. MML supports preseason open gym and fall/winter trashcan play. MML shares information about training programs like Fall Ball @ Kents Hill.
MML has offered to share equipment with any MCI-Nokomis team members that want to try the game or needs sticks, padding or helmets.
MML sponsors the bus to the US Lacrosse Boston Cannons Game on June 11th, 2016.
It costs $50 to be a member of MidMaine Lacrosse. $35 of this $50 goes to US Lacrosse and provides insurance for our programs. $15 helps support MidMaine Lacrosse. We offer scholarships to any player that requests assistance. Karen Boreham serves as registrar for MML.
MML also runs two "recreational club games" (5/7 and 6/5) during the MPA (Maine Principal's Assoc) MCI-Nokomis Cooperative Season. These games are against Eastern Maine Youth Lacrosse High School Club. These games are scheduled such that they do not interfere with MCI-Nokomis games. MML only serves to strengthen the MCI-Nokomis Cooperative Team. Eastern Maine is different from Bangor High School. EMYL includes kids from all around Bangor including Orrington, Orono etc. Few high schools will play club organizations. MidMaine has worked closely with Eastern Maine for years. We keep our club high school rec program, in part, to honor this relationship and to play EMYL. Longtime MML rec Coaches Bolliger and Mitchell will coach these two contests.
MCI-Nokomis is playing Bangor High School later in their season. Bangor High School is different kids (generally) than EMYL
MML rec team will also attend the Ted Hellier Tournament on Saturday, June 4th. This is an awesome jv/club tournament in South Portland. This tournament is a great way to conclude the spring season and a super way to learn about lacrosse in Maine. This tournament conflicts with spring events (graduation etc) @ MCI and Nokomis so it is, at this juncture, a much more appropriate MML rec team event. This year, the Ted Hellier Tournament is the same day as Maine State Track Finals in Bath. Some of the MCI-Nokomis High School Boys also run track. This may keep them from being able to attend the MML Rec team supported play at the Ted Hellier Tournament.
MidMaine Lacrosse Administrators hopes that MCI-Nokomis Cooperative Boy Game Team players join MidMaine Lacrosse Rec Team. We are happy to scholarship players that request assistance. Please seewww.midmainelacrosse.com, speak to Karen Boreham and Gretchen Gehrke for more information.
We NEED your support and your parents support Saturday 5/14 and Sunday 5/15 @ our Tegenhondi Tournament. Lacrosse is still growing in Maine. MidMaine initiated this tournament and this year, over the two days, we expect 50 teams (@ Colby or @ Warsaw TBA).
There might not be an MCI-Nokomis Team without all the investment made by MidMaine Lacrosse. Please come cook, police, clerk (especially Sunday when you do not have games.) MML needs nearly 50 helpers Sunday May 15th. !!!
MML needs your help this week selling calendar raffle tickets.
We need you to mentor and coach K-8 lacrosse players. There were nearly ten 3/4 and 5/6 players cheering you on and learning about the game yesterday.
You are powerful players leading lacrosse into the future.
Please join MML while you play for MCI-Nokomis.
