Not Sure Where to Start......
1. It was a privilege for 3/4 MidMaine to host Gray/New Gloucester, Lewiston and Eastern Maine Girls 3/4 Youth Lacrosse for 4 games this morning. The games, pizza and clinic were perfectly wonderful. Thanks to our visitors for sharing a splendid day filled with fun and learning. Thank you Coach Hubbard. That these 3/4 girls so obviously LOVE the game, is direct tribute to you. It was terrific.
2. It was fantastic to learn of the 3/4 MidMaine Boys growth and successes on the field @ Eastern Maine. Like the girls, these games were their initial field play contests. EVER. Thank you Coaches Rowell and Ouellette. Isn't it a fortunate problem that we need more uniforms!? BTW, You host 5 teams next Saturday @ SVMS.
3. Thank you Junior Referees. This day would not have been possible without your contributions. Sure we all had stuff to learn and still do. Classroom and real live games are different fodder. But you were amazing! I loved your receptive and eager seeking of feedback. Again, without your taking the April class and stepping up and onto the field today, today would not have occurred. Thanks too, Referee and Coach Gould for over seeing their initiation.
4. Thank you HIGH SCHOOL MML GIRLS for running an hour long clinic for all the 3/4 girls. It was so great that teams came from far away.....but it was far away....and your giving them this clinic added a generous gift. It is always inspiring for youngsters to work with high school grown up players. Thank you for sharing your time, insight and industry. Thank you Coach Gould for designing a well prepared clinic. It was just a good thing on top of a good thing!
5. Special Thank You to ALL for your patience as I sent mixed messages about the cost or lack there of pizza. My plate is over flowing. I need some parents to spear head things like pizza, water, field preparation. I was tired and I sent conflicting messages. Thanks for the patience parents shared when I momentarily lost a few marbles. (Sheri Harris and Lisa Morrill......)
5. Thank you Middle School Eastern Maine and MidMaine Girls for coming together as a team. You are paving the path for 2 future and independent teams. Your practice together is inspiring. Can't wait to see you play together on Tuesday @ Messalonskee.
6. I am a bit late.....but Thank you Middle School 7/8 boys (really 5-8) for your proficiency and delivery vs Brewer @ Brewer on Thursday. We build one by one. It takes a game or two to get our wings beneath us. We know that you are among the BEST. Better Every Single Time. Thank you Coaches Gould and Simpson for guiding this great group of boys (and freezing while you coached on Thursday.) I hope that play vs Gardiner builds on successful moments from play vs Brewer.
7. The fields were amazing. Once again, Thanks Mr. Wilson and Rowell for ALL your hard work this past week. Thank you Mr. Wilson and David Wilson for all your industry this morning. The field could not have been better. Thank you RSU #19 and SVMS for our home turf. Thank you very much.
8. Special thanks to Dawn Wiers and Carolyn Donaldson for watching over and serving the lunch. Thank you for helping when it was needed and I did not even have a moment to ask for help.
9. There was a group of players that stayed late and swept the field for trash. We borrow SVMS fields and hats off to the 5 or 6 players that scoured the field for garbage. I think we left it cleaner than we found it. And that is very good news.
10. Thanks to everyone involved including Maine Youth Lacrosse, Jonathon Becker, Joe Hezlep and Sabrina Best, for your most recent roles, growing the game in our direction. Your support, guidance and contribution made today happen.
